There are a couple of apps/recommendations for voice dictation (some listed=
 after this email). I've never used any of them, so I can't personally reco=
mmend one over another.=C2=A0 Some work best using a computer vs. talking i=
nto your phone but I've discovered a couple that you can use with just your=
 phone.=C2=A0=C2=A0
There were 2 that I discovered that could be used with my iPhone which natu=
rally enables you to dictate text anywhere you are and not only when you're=
 in front of a computer.=C2=A0 I have an iPhone and when I opened a new pag=
e in NOTES, I can dictate text by holding the microphone icon. I also can d=
ictate text using my PAGES app, and save the text.=C2=A0 Do you have an iPh=
one or an Android phone?=C2=A0=C2=A0
I also added Microsoft WORD=C2=A0to my iPhone (via Apple Store) and was=C2=
=A0able to easily speak into my phone.=C2=A0 I haven't figured out yet how =
to save the text this way but I will work on that later and will get back t=
o you. I added this for free but there is also a paid=C2=A0version of Micro=
soft WORD.=C2=A0=C2=A0
I also posted a question on Facebook asking for recommendations for dictati=
on software particularly geared towards book writing.=C2=A0 A couple of rec=
ommendations came back:=C2=A0
1) My cousin recommended Rev Speech to Text- rev.com - This is a subscripti=
on AI transcription service. I would say if you don't plan to dictate infor=
mation on a regular (at least 4+ times per month), a paid subscription migh=
t not be the best deal for you.=C2=A0 Rev charges about $30/month after a 1=
4-day free=C2=A0trial.
2)=C2=A0 One friend said she dictates using Microsoft Word via her computer=
.=C2=A0 Depends on the version of Microsoft Word you have and whether your =
computer includes a microphone.=C2=A0 You could purchase an auxiliary mic i=
f your computer doesn't already have one built in.=C2=A0 This way may be an=
 easy way if you're most comfortable sitting in front of your computer (lik=
e me; I spend a few hours daily in front of my computer).=C2=A0 After speak=
ing into the mic while Microsoft Word does the typing, you could then save =
the document onto your hard drive (or onto a flash or thumb drive) and then=
 forward the unedited text to me and I could format the dictated text.=C2=
=A0 Naturally this isn't as convenient as adding the Microsoft WORD App to =
your phone and just speaking into your phone, or dictating using NOTES or P=
AGES (if you have an iPhone; I'm hopeful that Android phones will have equi=
valent Apps to Apple's NOTES and PAGES).=C2=A0 Just another option to consi=
der.
3)=C2=A0 Lastly, my granddaughter suggested using dictation software for me=
dical providers.=C2=A0 I did a cursory review of this method but haven't re=
ally researched it fully.=C2=A0 Doctors dictate all the time.=C2=A0 I hadn'=
t thought of this prior to her suggesting it.

I'm not 100% recommending any of these options largely because I haven't fu=
lly tried any of them yet. I'll try to figure it out on my end which way is=

The 5 Best Dictation Software Options

1. Google Docs Voice Typing

This is currently the best voice typing software, by far. It=E2=80=99s driv=
en by Google=E2=80=99s AI software, which applies Google=E2=80=99s deep lea=
rning algorithms to accurately recognize speech. It also supports 125 diffe=
rent languages.

One of the best aspects of Voice Typing is that you don=E2=80=99t need to u=
se a specific operating system or install any extra software to use it. You=
 just need the Chrome web browser and a Google account.

tential downside is that you need a high-quality internet connection for Vo=
ice Typing, so you won=E2=80=99t be able to use it offline.

2. Apple Dictation

Apple Dictation is a voice dictation software that=E2=80=99s built into App=
le=E2=80=99s OS/ iOS. It comes preloaded with every Mac, and it works great=
 with Apple software.

If you=E2=80=99re on an iPhone or iPad, you can access Apple dictation by p=
ressing the microphone icon on the keyboard. Many people use this feature t=
o dictate texts, but it also works in Pages for iPhone. It can be a useful =
option for taking notes or dictating content while you=E2=80=99re away from=
 your desktop.

If you=E2=80=99re on a laptop or desktop, you can enable dictation by going=
 to System Preferences > Keyboard.

Apple Dictation typically requires an internet connection, but you can sele=
ct a feature in Settings called =E2=80=9CEnhanced Dictation=E2=80=9D that a=
llows you to continuously dictate text when you=E2=80=99re offline.

Otter is powered by Ambient Voice Intelligence, which means it=E2=80=99s al=
ways learning. You can train Otter to recognize specific voices or learn ce=
rtain terminology. It=E2=80=99s fast, accurate, and user-friendly.

Otter is based on a subscription plan with basic, premium, and team options=
. I=E2=80=99ll only mention the basic and premium plans since most Authors =
won=E2=80=99t need the team features.

The free basic plan allows 600 minutes of transcription per month, which sh=
